Brazil is the largest producer of coffee in the world and this Santos bean (named after its port) is considered to be a consistently good Brazilian coffee. The coffee beans are hand-picked and dry processed, which involves removing the beans from the cherries once dried. This method allows the sweetness of the fruit to carry through to the cup. This coffee is widely used around the world on its own and in espresso blends.

Many of the Indonesian islands were formed by volcanoes. They are therefore mountainous and have rich soil that is ideal for growing coffee. Some of the world’s famous coffees are grown on the islands of the Malay Archipelago: Sumatra, Java and Sulawesi. Approximately 15% of all the coffee grown in Indonesia is Arabica.
Sumatra Mandheling coffee is grown on volcanic slopes of Mount Leuser near port Padang in the Black region (west-central Sumatra).

A unique traditional Sumatran process – Giling Basah, gives the coffee a great body and flavour, garnished with herbal nuances and a spicy finish. The process involves hulling the parchment off the bean at about 50% moisture content, whereas most of other processes hull coffee at around 10-12% moisture content. This process also gives the green beans a signature dark colour.
The Grade 1 – Triple-Picked is hand-picked three times for defects. This results in a very consistent cup including only cherries at optimum ripeness.

Colombia, known for its high quality coffee, is the second largest producer of coffee in the world and the largest producer of washed Arabica coffee. Colombia exports approximately 12.5 million bags, half to the United States.
Colombia only produces washed Arabica coffee. There are primarily three varieties grown in Colombia and the coffee is referred to by the region in which is grown.
Colombian coffee is graded before shipment according to bean size. This particular type is Excelso – screen size 15-16. Excelso is quite large, but smaller than Supremo. Huila region, located in the southern part of Colombia, has all the attributes that are needed to produce an exceptional coffee. Received my order on the same day as it was roasted! Brazil Santos (flavour profile spot on!) made an excellent espresso, haven’t tried the others yet but I’m sure they will be excellent as well. First class service and a superb product- the best beans I’ve had in months.
    Highly recommended.

My first order from Naked Roaster so decided to try a selection. I like a milky coffee, but I still want it to taste of coffee – not always the case with some brands! All 3 coffees taste lovely, I’m unable to choose a favourite. My coffee was hand delivered the morning after I placed the order (I live relatively nearby) – super service 👍😊
