Naked Roaster Coffee in the Spotlight: Navigating the Rising Cost of Coffee Beans
On Wednesday BBC Radio Scotland reached out to us to discuss the record high coffee prices, the impact it has on our business and the what the future holds.
At Naked Roaster Coffee, we’re passionate about providing you with the finest specialty coffee, carefully roasted to perfection in Glasgow. Recently, we had the privilege of discussing the challenges and impact of the record-high price of raw coffee beans on BBC Lunchtime Live.
As many of you know, coffee prices have surged to levels we haven’t seen in years, driven by factors like climate change, supply chain disruptions, and growing demand worldwide. For small businesses like ours, this means we face difficult decisions to maintain the quality and consistency our customers expect while dealing with rising costs.
On Wednesday, we shared our insights on how we’re adapting. At Naked Roaster Coffee, we’re committed to supporting small-scale farmers and micro-lots, ensuring that we source the best beans available, even in the face of these challenges. However, the price hikes mean our margins are tighter, and we’ve had to carefully navigate how to balance absorbing some of these costs while staying fair to both our customers and the coffee producers we work closely with.
During our BBC Lunchtime Live interview, we emphasized the importance of transparency and quality. We’re dedicated to maintaining our core values—sourcing ethically, roasting with care, and keeping our customers informed every step of the way. While price increases may be unavoidable, we will continue to offer the same exceptional coffee you’ve come to love, without compromising on the things that matter most: flavor, quality, and sustainability.
We are grateful for the continued support of our customers during these unpredictable times. Your loyalty allows us to keep doing what we love and supporting the farmers who grow the beans that bring Naked Roaster Coffee to life.
If you missed our interview, you can catch the highlights on our social media channels or head to BBC Radio Scotlands website, Lunchtime Live, Episode posted on the 11th of December and at time approximately 56 minutes in, where we’ll also keep you updated on how we’re navigating the changing landscape of the coffee industry.
